Nigerian singer Skales has opened up about his relationship with former label mate and fellow artiste Wizkid, revealing that their connection was more professional than personal.
In a recent interview while promoting his upcoming album, Martina’s Son, Skales addressed ongoing speculation about his relationship with Wizkid.
He clarified that, despite rumours suggesting otherwise, he and Wizkid were never close friends, merely colleagues at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
Skales, who has faced public scrutiny and accusations, explained that while he has helped many people in the past, some of whom have betrayed him, he continues to find success and blessings in his career.
The controversy intensified when a user on X (formerly Twitter) accused Skales of betraying Wizkid by befriending his rivals.
The user commented, “You switched on Wiz too, became friends with his enemies… Forever an underdog.”
In response to the accusations, Skales firmly denied any wrongdoing, stating, “I never ever switched on him… he doesn’t like me… we were never close friends either but EME members… so rest.”
