President Bola Tinubu has accepted his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale’s decision to proceed on indefinite leave of absence due to health challenges.

On Saturday, Ngelale announced his decision to proceed on indefinite leave of absence from his role as the President’s spokesman, citing personal health issues.

A statement from the Presidency confirmed that President Tinubu has received Ngelale’s memo, in which Ngelale, also the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, requested an indefinite leave of absence for personal and health reasons.

“The President fully understands and accepts the reasons for this leave and expresses sympathy for the circumstances that led to this difficult decision,” the statement read.

The statement also acknowledged Ngelale’s tireless efforts and dedication in serving the nation, particularly his significant contributions to national discourse and climate action.

“During this period, we kindly ask that Chief Ngelale and his family’s privacy be respected,” the statement concluded.
