PC Morgan Griffiths, a constable based in Dagenham, has been dismissed from the Metropolitan Police Service for making discriminatory comments at work.
A misconduct hearing on September 9 found Griffiths guilty of gross misconduct, according to a release by the Metropolitan Police on Monday.
The incident occurred in February 2024, when Griffiths used antisemitic language during a discussion with a colleague in east London.
The comments were witnessed and challenged by other officers, leading to a complaint and an investigation by the Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS).
Inspector Scott Didham of the DPS stated, “We are working tirelessly to hold officers accountable for discriminatory behavior. There are consequences for such actions, and nobody should be in doubt about that.”
Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell, responsible for policing in east London, said, “There is no place for discriminatory conduct in the Met. PC Griffiths’ dismissal is justified, and I’m reassured that colleagues felt confident to challenge his behavior. We’re building a culture where everyone can feel welcome and thrive. Those who undermine this will face consequences.”
