During the ABC Presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris fired back at Donald Trump’s claims about “migrant crimes” by highlighting his own legal troubles.
“I find it incredibly ironic coming from someone who has been prosecuted for national security crimes, economic crimes, and election interference,” Harris stated.
Trump, in response, repeated his familiar defence, claiming that the criminal cases against him represent the “weaponization” of the justice system.
“They’re fake cases,” Trump insisted.
Harris was questioned about her stance on fracking, an issue on which she has been accused of shifting her position over time.
Harris, however, stood firm, asserting that her core values remain consistent.
“My values have not changed,” Harris said, emphasizing the need to invest in diverse energy sources to reduce America’s reliance on foreign oil.
“My position is that we have to invest in diverse sources of energy so we reduce our reliance on foreign oil.”
She pointed to the administration’s record, highlighting a historic increase in domestic oil production.
“We’ve had the largest increase in domestic oil production in history because of an approach that recognizes we cannot over-rely on foreign oil,” she added.
Former President Donald Trump, meanwhile, continued to insist that Harris would ban fracking if elected to the White House, claiming she would take such action on “day one.”
Harris has recently clarified that she would not ban fracking, aiming instead for a balanced energy strategy.
