Vice President Kamala Harris has criticized former President Donald Trump, accusing him of shifting economic blame onto the Biden administration.
“Donald Trump left us with the worst unemployment since the Great Depression,” Harris said. “What we have done is clean up Donald Trump’s mess.”
She also attacked Trump for overseeing what she described as “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War” and “the worst public health epidemic in a century.”
Harris emphasized the administration’s efforts to rebuild, stating, “What we have done, and what I intend to do, is build on the aspirations and hopes of the American people.”
Citing concerns about Project 2025, Harris warned that Trump has a “detailed and dangerous plan” that could be enacted if he returns to office.
She also outlined her vision for an “opportunity economy,” pledging to address housing costs and support young families. “One of my passions is small businesses,” she added.
In contrast, Trump vowed to impose tariffs on other countries, claiming they are “finally… paying us back for what we’ve done for the world.”
He specifically mentioned China, asserting that tariffs imposed during his administration brought in “billions,” which remain in effect even after he left office.
