Mohbad: Omowumi reflects on Mohbad's legacy one year after death

Wife of the late singer Ilerioluwa Promise, popularly known as Mohbad, Omowumi has marked the one-year anniversary of his death with an emotional tribute.

She described the last year as a period of unbearable pain and huge loss, reflecting on how his absence has affected both her and their young son, Liam.

Omowumi’s tribute, shared with her followers, expressed the depth of her grief and the challenges she has faced since Mohbad’s untimely death.

“Ilerioluwa mi, Husband of my youth, my best friend! It’s been a year today since you left me and our Liam in this cold world. It’s been so hard. I miss you so much. Liam misses you too,” she wrote.

She lamented the void left by his departure, noting the emotional struggle of navigating life without him.

Her message also touched on the impact Mohbad’s death has had on her life, acknowledging both the pain and the growth she has experienced.

“Your passing brought me unbearable pain, but it has also shaped me. I’ve learned so much, and I’m still learning,” she reflected.

She shared her ongoing struggle to accept the reality of his absence and the dreams that went unfulfilled.

Despite the sorrow, Omowumi chose to celebrate Mohbad’s life and legacy.

She vowed to honor his memory by raising Liam with the love and care Mohbad would have provided. “Every day, I see pieces of you in him—your kindness, your smile, your spirit. I promise to raise him with the same love and care you would have given him, keeping your memory alive in every step of his life.”

She also expressed her prayers for Mohbad’s soul and her commitment to keeping his memory alive through their son.

“Today, I choose to honor your legacy. Today, I choose to give all glory to God for blessing me with you. My love, I pray for your soul today. I ask that God forgive you of all your shortcomings and welcome you to rest at His right hand. Fly high with the angels, love of my life.”
