Why artistes must be business-minded – ID Cabasa

Veteran record producer and music executive, Olumide Ogunade, popularly known as ID Cabasa has advised artistes to be business-minded.

Cabasa gave the advice during a recent conversation during an appearance at Toopsoul Studio.

Speaking about the music business in Nigeria, he noted the need for artists to up their game in the business of creating music.

“You need to come into the industry with much more and not just as an artiste. Also, you have to be business-minded. Not just the business of making music but with the sense of making money with it.”

Cabasa noted that artistes should learn to make appropriate choices while signing record contracts.

“One of the good things that God has given you is choice. You have a choice to either stay back or stand up and walk away. It is not the business that is having the problem but our mindset.”
