Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has raised alarm over the increasing number of Nigerian pastors performing fake miracles to deceive and exploit people.

In an Instagram post, Ogbonna expressed his deep concern, describing the practice as a heartbreaking betrayal of Christianity’s true essence.

The actor lamented that such fraudulent actions by clergymen not only damage the church’s reputation but also manipulate vulnerable believers, turning faith into a means of personal profit.

He emphasized that the consequences of these deceptions include broken trust, shattered lives, and manipulated faith.

Ogbonna called on pastors engaged in such acts to reflect on their actions, warning them that using God’s name for falsehood is a direct betrayal of the gospel.

He urged Christians to remember that their faith is sacred and that true miracles cannot come from deception.

The actor also appealed to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to take a stronger stance, calling for stricter regulations and accountability measures for those posing as pastors.

He revealed that Christianity should be rooted in truth, love, and humility, not manipulation for financial gain or social media clout.

“Let’s stand together to protect the integrity of our faith,” Ogbonna concluded.
