Dangote, Indimi, Dantata lead N12bn donations for Maiduguri Flood Relief

The Borno State Government has announced that it has raised over N12 billion in cash and material donations to support victims of the Alau Dam flood disaster in Maiduguri.
Abdurrahman Bundi, the Senior Special Adviser on New Media to the Governor of Borno, provided the update on the Maiduguri Relief Fund on Thursday.
According to Bundi, the donations were received from corporate entities, state governments, members of the State and National Assemblies, individuals, and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
Among the notable contributions, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) donated N3 billion along with food supplies, Aliko Dangote contributed N2 billion, Aminu Dantata N1.5 billion, and Mohammed Indimi N1 billion.
Other significant donations included N1.2 billion from Borno local government areas, N500 million from Oluremi Tinubu, and N250 million each from Bauchi and Niger states. Additionally, the people of Southern Borno contributed N200 million.
Several high-profile individuals and organizations also made donations, including Dahiru Mangal, Atiku Abubakar, Rep. Mukhtar Betara, Ali Modu Sheriff, the House of Representatives, Abdulsalam Kachala, and JAIZ Bank, along with Kebbi, Yobe, Kano, Taraba, Katsina, Kaduna, and Zamfara states, all contributing N100 million each.
Buba Marwa, the Director General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and Matrix Energy provided 10 trucks of fertilizer and foodstuffs, each valued at over N120 million.
Among those who contributed N50 million were the Adamawa State Government, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Ahmed Lawan, Mohammad Maifata, Ibrahim Umar, Mohammad Imam, Ali Dalori, the Bauchi APC chapter, Sen. Tahir Monguno, Sen. Kaka Shehu, and the 18th Engineering Company. The Borno State Assembly donated N60 million.
Additionally, the Nasarawa State Government donated six trucks of rice, spaghetti, and sugar.
Numerous other individuals and organizations made contributions ranging from N1 million to N30 million.
