In a major security operation, the Nigerian Police Force in Katsina State has successfully neutralized a notorious bandit leader, Dan Kundu.

Kundu, the younger brother of infamous bandit Usman Modi Modi, was known for terrorizing communities in the Tsatskiya Forest area of Safana Local Government Area (LGA).

According to Zagazola Makama, Security Analyst and Counter Insurgency Expert in the Lake Chad region, the operation took place on Thursday night when Kundu and his gang attempted an attack in the Kurfi area.

According to reports, police officers, in collaboration with local vigilantes, intercepted the deadly bandit and his men before they could carry out the planned assault.

The ensuing confrontation resulted in the elimination of Kundu and several of his gang members.

The neutralization of Kundu marks another significant victory in the ongoing efforts to curb banditry and restore peace to the region.

Authorities have confirmed that operations against bandit groups will continue, as they seek to further weaken the strongholds of criminal elements in Katsina State.
