Junior Pope: Gov. Eno fulfills promise of renovation make-up artiste's family house

Akwa Ibom governor Umo Eno on Friday fulfilled his promise of renovation of the family house of Abigail Fredrick, a Nollywood Make-up artist who died on April 13, following a boat mishap that also claimed the lives of Actor Junior Pope and three others.

Governor Eno fulfilled the promise he made after the death of Abigail with the handover over of a remodeled, fully furnished 6-bedroom apartment to the family of the late make-up artiste at Ikot Udoma community in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Friday,

The Governor, who was represented by Mr Frank Archibong, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs said that the gesture was in fulfilment of his promise to the family in April.

The Governor also gave a business support of N1 million to the family and an additional N1 million to support the education of two younger sisters of the deceased make-up artiste.

Eno who personally visited the grieving family after the incident that claimed life of Abigail on April 13 , offered automatic employment to the deceased’s elder sister.

During the visit, the governor, also pledged to support her two younger sisters through university education, and to renovate their family house.

According to Archibong, the governor’s gesture is a clear demonstration of empathy and fatherly support to the family of the late make-up artist.

“This is purely service to humanity, it is not politically-motivated, I am here to properly handover your renovated building to you,” he said.

Also speaking, Mr Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Services, said that the building had been completed about a month ago.

“The governor insisted that it should be furnished before being presented to the family,” he said.

Mr Frederick Edet, the deceased father, thanked the governor for standing by the family during their moment of grief.

“On behalf of my family, I thank you for the support, I pray God to bless and strengthen you to serve our dear state,” he said.
