Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has stirred discussions on social media following her advice to married couples about relationships and infidelity.
The veteran actress took to her social media platform to share her thoughts, claiming that a happy partner would not cheat, unless they are “naturally a dog.”
Her post read:
“Stop checking if your partner is cheating on you, rather check if your partner is happy. A happy partner cannot cheat unless your partner is naturally a dog.”
The statement immediately triggered mixed reactions, with some netizens questioning the validity of her advice, while others offered their own interpretations.
One follower, bibi_paul212, questioned if the statement applied to actor Yul Edochie, asking, “So May wasn’t making Yul happy?”
Chioma_nwobi responded, “Mummy, we are not in 1980! These days people happily cheat on their partners.”
Others outrightly dismissed Edochie’s advice. officialastic wrote, “Una with una yeye advice, abeg check your partner phone…. Know the nonsense you marry.”
Another user, effedeborah, commented, “A happy partner can’t cheat ke? As a matter of fact, it is the happiness that will even drive them to go and cheat.”
Not everyone disagreed, though, as “themanfromuncleishere” pointed out that there may still be value in her words, stating, “It’s one thing to look out for mistakes, it’s another thing for people to be so busy looking for mistakes that they miss the message.”
