Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has expressed her deep concerns regarding the state of governance in Nigeria, particularly in light of the recent Edo State gubernatorial elections.
In a social media post, Osunde criticized the ineffectiveness of online activism, stating that efforts such as hashtag campaigns for better governance have failed to yield tangible results.
Reflecting on past protests, she noted that the widespread demonstrations aimed at reducing fuel prices, which occurred just months ago, did not bring about the desired change.
Despite Nigerians actively participating in the electoral process by obtaining their voter cards and casting their votes for their preferred candidates, Osunde lamented that these actions did not lead to any improvements in the political space.
Osunde posed a critical question: what will it take to truly effect change in Nigeria?
She urged her followers to consider what measures could help transform the nation into a better place for all its citizens.
