Elizabeth Egbetokun, wife of Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun and President of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), has emphasized the importance of unity.
Addressing the members during the inauguration of the FCT POWA secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, Egbetokun highlighted unity as the cornerstone of the association’s strength.
She also urged the members to embrace diversity and collaborate towards impactful change.
“As we move forward, let us remember that our unity is our greatest asset. Let us celebrate our diversity, encourage one another, and work together to bring about meaningful change,” she affirmed.
Egbetokun described the newly inaugurated secretariat as a symbol of unity, resilience, and commitment to community service, noting its significance beyond just a physical structure.
“Today, we are not just inaugurating a building; we are opening a beacon of hope and empowerment. This secretariat embodies the spirit of solidarity among families who serve and protect our nation under challenging circumstances,” she remarked.
The secretariat aims to empower women through various initiatives such as skill enhancement workshops, training programs, and outreach activities.
“Our focus is to equip women with resources to support their husbands and thrive in their own right,” Egbetokun added.
Mrs Chineye Igweh, Chairperson of FCT POWA and wife of Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7, praised Egbetokun for her leadership in completing the secretariat project.
Igweh emphasized that the new facility marks a new era for enhanced service delivery and efficiency for FCT members.
