Court restrains APC, other parties from disrupting Kano LG election

The All Progressives Congress, APC and 18 other political parties have been restrained from disrupting or frustrating the impending local government election in Kano by a state high court.
The court gave the order on Tuesday while ruling in a motion exparte dated and filed on Sept.20 by Counsel Rilwanu Umar Esq, the counsel to the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC),
KANSIEC in the application asked the court to restrain the respondents from disrupting the electoral process in the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Aside the APC, other parties joined as respondents in the suit are Accord Party, Action Alliance, Action Democratic Party, African Democratic Congress, All Progressives Congress, Allied Peoples Movement, All Progressive Grand Alliance, Boot Party and Labour Party.
Others are National Rescue Movement, New Nigeria Peoples Party, Peoples Democratic Party, Peoples Redemption Party, Social Democratic Party, Young Progressive Party, Young Party and Zenith Labour Party.
Justice Sunusi Ado-Ma’aji, granted an Interim Injunction restraining the defendants from taking any action that will frustrate the plaintiff from discharging its statutory duties.
Ado-Ma’aji adjourned the matter until Oct.10, for hearing of the motion on notice.
