Kano governor Yusuf receives 30 opposition leaders into NNPP

Kano state Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Tuesday, received 30 members of opposition parties who decamped to the ruling New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP).
The opposition political parties members said they dumped their political parties for NNPP because of the performance of Governor Yusuf in the state.
This was contained in a statement by Governor Yusuf”s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The decampees include top ranking members who contested various elective positions in 2023 general elections in Kano under the platforms Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and National Rescue Movement (NRM).
The Statement added that the former opposition members were warmly received into the NNPP at a special event held at Africa house, Government house, Kano.
In their separate declaration, the leaders of the two opposition parties revealed their decision to join the ruling NNPP was informed by Governor Yusuf’s sincere intention to build a viable society.
Malam Shehu Nuhu, one of the leaders said he was convinced by the laudable projects being implemented in Kano State by Governor Yusuf, especially in health and education sectors, a major consideration to return to NNPP.
While receiving the defectors, Governor Yusuf commended them over their decision and conviction to admit the truth amid political gimmick being spread by opposition parties.
He pledged that the NNPP administration would sustain unwavering commitment to socio-economic development especially across all critical sector of the economy.
“What we are doing is nothing other than implementing our party’s manifesto, Kwankwasiyya ideology and our blueprint. Be rest assured that you will be carried along in the NNPP’s affairs and policies and programmes of the present administration for the overall development of Kano” assured Governor Yusuf.
