A former member of the House of Representatives, Omosede Gabriella Igbinedion, has called the victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo in last Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State a testimony of his humility.

She also described the Governor-elect and his Deputy, Dennis Idahosa, as grassroots politicians abreast with the yearnings of the people.

The daughter of the Esama of Benin Kingdom, who stated this in her congratulatory message to Okpebholo, described the victory as a divinely-given mandate that represented the will of the people.

She said: “Senator Okpebholo’s victory is a testament to his humility, effort, respect and commitment to the people of Edo State.

“I am elated that ‘A New Edo is rising’, in the words of Senator Monday Okpebholo.”
