In a dazzling performance, Cole Palmer netted four goals to lead Chelsea to a resounding 4-2 victory against Brighton on Saturday, propelling the Blues to third in the Premier League standings.

Brighton struck first in the seventh minute when Georginio Rutter capitalised on a defensive lapse, heading the ball into the net to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

However, Chelsea responded swiftly.

In the 22nd minute, Palmer found the equaliser, displaying remarkable composure as he curled the ball into the bottom left corner after receiving a precise pass from Nicolas Jackson.

Just six minutes later, he scored again, finishing with precision into the same corner to put Chelsea ahead 2-1.

Palmer continued to shine, converting a free kick into the top right corner in the 31st minute, extending Chelsea’s lead to 3-1.

Brighton narrowed the gap shortly after, with Carlos Baleba scoring from close range in the 34th minute, making it 3-2.

Palmer completed his stunning hat-trick and added a fourth goal in the dying moments of the match, striking into the bottom left corner after being set up by Jadon Sancho.

Despite a disallowed goal from Marc Cucurella in the 71st minute that would have made it 5-2, Chelsea maintained control, securing a vital win that underscores their attacking prowess and moves them closer to the league leaders.
