The hosts struggled after being reduced to 10 men following a red card to Bruno Fernandes, as Spurs capitalized with clinical finishing and solid play throughout.
Tottenham took the lead early in the match, silencing the home crowd when Micky van de Ven set up Brennan Johnson for a simple tap-in to make it 1-0.
Despite several missed opportunities from both sides, Tottenham continued to dominate, with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho hitting the post and Joshua Zirkzee failing to convert a good chance.
In the 42nd minute, United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, was shown a red card for a dangerous challenge, leaving the Red Devils a man down for the remainder of the match.
Tottenham doubled their advantage just after the break when Dejan Kulusevski smashed home a cross, sending his effort past Andre Onana to make it 2-0.
Tottenham kept the pressure on with Timo Werner forcing a Superman-like save from Onana, but United struggled to mount any real threat.
The third and final goal came in the 78th minute, with Pape Matar Sarr finding Dominic Solanke, who fired the ball into the back of the net to seal the victory for the visitors.
