Nigerian music star Omah Lay has expressed his love for Afrobeats megastar Davido, calling him a “legend.”
When asked about collaborations in a recent interview on The Baller Alert, Omah Lay revealed that he and Davido have a song set to drop soon, much to the excitement of their fans.
“Actually, we have a song, and it’s coming out soon. I am very excited about the record because it’s something I never imagined would be this great and cool,” Omah Lay shared.
He described the collaborative process as smooth, noting the connection they shared while creating the track.
“The way we got along and made the record is so cool, and Davido is also an amazing person,” he added.
Omah Lay also discussed the growing prominence of Afrobeats in the U.S., pointing out that Davido stands out among several prominent Nigerian stars making waves internationally.
“Davido is a legend. He is big, big,” he emphasized, acknowledging the significant role Davido has played in the global rise of the genre.
This announcement comes months after Omah Lay stirred conversation online by suggesting he believed Davido had negative feelings towards him.
While he kept the song’s title under wraps, Omah Lay hinted at its release coming soon.
The track is expected to precede his eagerly awaited sophomore album, which he noted he had to begin anew after his original concept was appropriated by another artiste.
