‘The Weekend’ leads with 16 AMAA 2024 nominations

The Africa Film Academy (AFA), the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) organisers, has announced the nominees for its 2024 edition.

The nomination list was released on Wednesday at a press briefing at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.

In partnership with the Lagos government, the 20th edition of AMAA is themed ‘Celebrating African Creativity’.

‘The Weekend’, the Nigerian movie by Uche Okocha clinched 16 nominations while Femi Adebayo’s ‘Jagun Jagun’ secured seven nods.

The award ceremony will be held on November 2 at the Balmoral Hall, Sheraton, Ikeja, Lagos.
