Among eminent Nigerian legal luminaries is Chief Richard Ayodele Akintunde, SAN. Revered for his unwavering stance, versatility, and significant contributions to law, business, community development, and youth empowerment, he was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2016.

Akintunde is an expert in law, sports, and business, with decades of dedication to legal institutions and invaluable reform within his scope that cannot be taken for granted.

Specializing in commercial law, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution, Chief Richard Ayodele Akintunde co-founded Laniyan with Akintunde and Ibrahim.

In June 1993, he co-founded the law firm of Laniyan, Akintunde & Ibrahim, a commercial law, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) firm.

In 2004, he founded Ayodele Akintunde & Co., a full-service law firm with offices in both Lagos and Abuja. After a decade, Akintunde still leads as a Senior Partner in this firm, channeling his expertise into cases of insolvable intricacies while consistently providing tangible solutions. As a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria. He is also the Past President of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria. He was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2016.

Barr. Akintunde chaired the NBA Election Audit and Reform Committee and the NBA Election Committee, both of which had successful outcomes. His tenacity and leadership strategies have had superb effects on those working with him, showcasing his commitment to truth, integrity, and electoral transparency. Additionally, he serves on the NBA’s Council of the Section on Legal Practice, a testament to his exceptional standing in the Nigerian legal system.
