The 1984 Set of New Era Girls’ Secondary School (NEGSS) Alumnae Association is set to commemorate its 40th Graduation Anniversary with the commissioning of a newly refurbished Chemistry Laboratory and a Thanksgiving Ceremony.
The milestone event is scheduled for October 17 and 18, 2024, at the school’s auditorium in Surulere, Lagos.
As part of their ongoing commitment to improving science education at NEGSS, the alumnae have upgraded the Chemistry Laboratory with cutting-edge equipment and resources.
This modernized facility will enhance students’ learning experience, underscoring the group’s dedication to academic excellence and their lasting contribution to the school’s development.
Speaking ahead of the event, Olubukola Johnson Adeyemi, Governor of the 1984 Set, announced that a Thanksgiving Ceremony will also be held to celebrate the achievements of the alumnae and express gratitude for the school’s impact on their lives over the past four decades.
The event will feature key alumni and prominent figures from various sectors, including government officials and education stakeholders.
Chairperson of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Folashade Balogun Jose, highlighted that the celebration will showcase the enduring spirit of education, innovation, and community service.
The celebrations promise to be a momentous occasion for both the school and the wider community.
