Richard, only son of ex-Minister Pauline Tallen, dies

Tragedy struck in the home of former Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen as she suddenly lost her only son, Richard to the cold hands of death on Sunday.

The deceased, Richard Adamu Tallen reportedly passed on at the intensive care unit of the Cedar Crest Hospital, Abuja where he was placed on oxygen.

He was reportedly admitted to the hospital on Friday evening for treatment of a yet to be disclosed illness.

The late Richard Adamu Tallen family and his his alma mater, the Vom Old Boys’ Association (VOBA) confirmed his death in a statement and a social media post respectively on Sunday.

According to the announcements, Richard Adamu died in Abuja after a brief illness.

“On a very sad note, we regret to announce the sudden passing of our member, Mr Richard Adamu Tallen.

“Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him.

“May the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA members RIP. Amen,” the group posted on Facebook on Sunday afternoon.

The late Richard, who is a graduate of Computer Science from a United States university, was aged 42 and is survived by a wife and three children.

The burial arrangements will be announced by the family.
