Popular Nigerian lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has confirmed the arrest of rapper Speed Darlington, who had reportedly been missing since Friday.
Adeyanju disclosed that the rapper was arrested in Lagos and subsequently transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
In a series of posts on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), on Tuesday, Adeyanju revealed that Speed Darlington’s arrest was based on a formal complaint lodged by Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy.
He wrote, “We just spent the last 30 minutes with Speed Darlington, and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos on Friday last week, moved around, and eventually brought to Abuja. The petition against him was written by Burna Boy, we can confirm.”
The arrest comes shortly after Speed Darlington’s mother publicly accused Burna Boy and his team of orchestrating her son’s disappearance.
This followed an online dispute between the two musicians, where Speed Darlington questioned the authenticity of Burna Boy’s Grammy award, accusing him of leveraging his connection with embattled American singer, Diddy.
