Nigerian music stars Burna Boy and Odumodublvck left the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards empty-handed, despite strong nominations.
Burna Boy, who was up for Best Live Performer, lost to iconic rapper Missy Elliott, while Odumodublvck missed out on the Best International Flow award, which went to British rapper Ghetts.
The biggest winner of the night was Kendrick Lamar, who took home eight awards from his 11 nominations, including Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for “Not Like Us,” and Best Hip-Hop Video. Megan Thee Stallion, despite leading with 12 nominations, ended the night without a single win.
Major winners included Nicki Minaj‘s Hip-Hop Album of the Year for Pink Friday 2, while Sexyy Red claimed Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artiste. Future & Metro Boomin secured the Best Duo or Group award.
