Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has issued an important update for customers following a recent system upgrade that has caused significant frustration.
Last week, the bank announced the upgrade, but despite assuring customers on Monday that services were back to normal, many have continued to face issues, particularly with the bank’s apps.
Customers have complained about their inability to transfer funds to other banks, and those using GTBank ATMs have reported problems with POS transactions.
Amid these challenges, GTBank has reassured customers that it is working to fine-tune and optimise its systems after the upgrade, which is aimed at improving service quality nationwide.
In a statement sent to customers on Wednesday, the bank confirmed that its digital banking channels and branches are now fully operational, signalling the completion of the upgrade.
“We are working to optimise our new systems to significantly enhance your service experience with us,” the message read.
The bank expressed gratitude for customers’ patience during the transition, adding, “We appreciate your understanding and support during this period; your continued trust is invaluable to us.”
To assist with any remaining issues, GTBank has provided various customer support channels.
The upgrade, which took place between October 11 and 14, temporarily disrupted services, causing inconvenience for many customers. However, with the completion of the process, GTBank is confident that the new infrastructure will provide a smoother banking experience going forward.
This system upgrade is part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to adopt a new banking application aimed at enhancing overall service delivery.
