CP Umoru Peter Ozigi assumes duty in Edo police command

A newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Umoru Peter Ozigi, has assumed duty in the Edo State Command.

His deployment was announced in a statement late Friday night, by the Command’s spokesman, SP Moses Joel Yamu.

The statement noted that Ozigi got enlisted into Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, and trained in the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.

“CP Umoru Peter Ozigi possesses vast experience and knowledge in investigation, operations and administration.

“He is highly disciplined, detribalized and hardworking officer who will wield these attributes to ensure lives and property of all the residents of the State are protected.

“The CP is mindful of the yearnings of the people of Edo State in terms of security and safety and is soliciting for the cooperation of the general public to subdue all forms of crime and criminality in the State,” the statement noted.

Ozigi who hails from Adavi LGA of Kogi State, is a graduate of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.

He attended various courses within and outside the country and has served in various capacities across the country.
