Ododo swears in new Kogi LG chairmen

The newly elected chairmen and vice chairmen of the 21 local government areas of Kogi State have been sworn in by the Governor,  Usman Ododo.

The new local government helmsmen in Kogi are all  of the All Progressives Congress. The candidates of the APC swept the polls in the recently conducted Local Government election in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Govern Governor, Media and Publicity, Ismaila Isah, said a statement on Monday in Lokoja that the new LGA bosses were sworn-in at a ceremony in the government house.

The statement said Ododo charged the newly sworn-in leaders to  focus on projects and programmes that would have good impact on the people.

“There is a need for you to be transparent and accountable in running the affairs of the local government. You must see your election as an opportunity to justify the autonomy of the local government administration by according priorities to matters that have a direct positive impact on the lives of the people at the grassroots.”

Speaking for his colleagues, the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Tosin Olokun,  assured Ododo that they would commit themselves into transforming the lives of those at the grassroots.
