The United States has announced a substantial new military assistance package for Ukraine as it continues its struggle against Russian aggression.

In a statement on Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed that this latest support, valued at $400 million, comprises urgently needed weapons and equipment for Ukrainian forces defending their nation against ongoing attacks from Russia.

This additional assistance, provided under the previously exercised Presidential Drawdown Authority from Department of Defense stocks, includes:

  • Mortars
  • M113 armored vehicles
  • Tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided (TOW) missiles
  • Javelin missiles
  • AT-4 rockets
  • Satellite communications support
  • Ammunition for crew-served weapons
  • Small arms, grenades, and training equipment
  • Demolition equipment and munitions
  • Spare parts, ancillary equipment, services, training, and transportation

Blinken emphasised the U.S. commitment to equipping Ukraine to enhance its battlefield capabilities, defend against the Kremlin’s brutal aggression, and secure a just and lasting peace.

“As President Biden has made clear, the United States and the international coalition we have assembled will continue to stand with Ukraine,” he stated.
