Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has taken to social media to announce her decision to distance herself from unfriendly friends.
Taking to her Instagram page, Edochie expressed her commitment to removing those who appear friendly but have ulterior motives.
The actress stressed her decision to stop insincere relationships from her life, stating that she will continue this process until she is left with only those she can genuinely trust.
She cautioned her followers to be wary of individuals who are overly eager to celebrate their successes, as they may not have their best interests at heart.
“I will keep dropping unfriendly friends within and around me until I see the ones to manage at all because no one is an island,” Edochie warned. “BEWARE OF PERSONS WHO ARE TOO QUICK TO CONGRATULATE YOU OR CELEBRATE YOUR WINS BECAUSE MOST OF THEM DON’T MEAN WELL. 99 AND HALF PER CENT OF THEM ALL ARE NOTHING BUT INSINCERE FLATTERY DEVILS READY TO SHOW THEIR venom AT ANY SLIGHTEST CHANGE SO BE VERY CAREFUL.”
Edochie’s warning comes just days after she declared that forgiveness isn’t part of her calling, urging the public to be cautious of gossip and criticisms.
She also addressed rumours regarding her relationship with fellow actress May, dismissing claims that she harbours negative feelings toward her as unfounded.
