In a rare public encounter, President Bola Tinubu met with his long-time political opponent, Atiku Abubakar, during a Jumat service and wedding ceremony held at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday.
The occasion was the wedding of the daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje, a prominent Nigerian politician and former governor of Gombe State.
The meeting, captured by photographer Taiwo Okanlawon, brought together two prominent figures who, despite their historical political rivalry, shared moments of cordial interaction at the high-profile event.
Both leaders shook hands and wore gorgeous smiles amidst their disagreement.
Both have played significant roles in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape over the years, with Tinubu currently serving as Nigeria’s President and Abubakar as a former Vice President.
