A popular drummer, identified as HC Ikhamateh Akhumhele, was allegedly killed by suspected herdsmen in Osholo community, Uwanno kingdom, Edo State.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, 26 October, between 6 and 7 pm along Iviukwe Road.
Osholo is situated near Agenebode, the administrative headquarters of Etsako East Local Government Area. While details of the attack remain unclear, no information has yet emerged on the motive behind the killing.

Edo State Police Command spokesman, SP Moses Joel Yamu, confirmed the killing of Akhumhele, stating that the Command received a report around 9 pm on Saturday and launched an investigation immediately.
“We are meeting with community leaders regarding this unfortunate incident, and tactical teams have been deployed to comb the area for the suspects,” Yamu said.
“DPOs in neighbouring areas have also been alerted to watch for the perpetrators.”
Yamu added that the Command is seeking any information from the public that could aid in identifying and apprehending those responsible for killing Akhumhele.
