Nollywood actor and director Ugezu Ugezu has voiced his disapproval over the recent dismissal of Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye as Minister of Women Affairs, a decision made by President Bola Tinubu.

Kennedy-Ohanenye’s termination was part of a broader reshuffle in which five other ministers were also relieved of their duties.

Expressing his concerns on Instagram, Ugezu remarked that Kennedy-Ohanenye had been working diligently to embody the “Renewed Hope” agenda promised by Tinubu’s administration.

He suggested that her dismissal would dishearten individuals dedicated to transforming Nigeria through progressive leadership in various governmental departments.

“The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who promised the citizens RENEWED HOPE, sacks the Minister who worked assiduously for the citizens to feel a sense of renewed hope. It tells us something….. the leaders of the country are not ready for a realistic change,” Ugezu wrote.

Ugezu cautioned that such actions hinder those aiming to revitalize Nigeria, allowing corruption to persist unchecked, a sentiment he described as “saddening.”
