Popular veteran Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu, has explained why she can never render any free services to her home state, Abia.
Speaking in an interview with Nollywood on Radio, the Abia State-born thespian narrated how her people rendered no support and abandoned her during her illness.
“I have personally decided that there is nothing my Abia State will call me for, that I would go for free.
“They would pay through their nose for me to go. I’m from Arochukwu local government area of the state.
“It was the fame I had through the roles I played in a series that helped me when I needed help because the person who reached out to the Lagos state government to save my life did that because she loves me as her favorite actor,” she said.
The 61-year-old in 2012 battled a kidney-related ailment.
In 2022, she revealed how the rumours about her condition made her fall into depression.
Nwosu began her acting career in Yoruba-language films, before making her home-video debut in ‘Living in Bondage,’ an Igbo-language film considered to begin the video film era of Cinema of Nigeria.
