FG holds talks with striking university workers

The Federal Government has invited the  Joint Action Committee of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities for a meeting to hold talks over their ongoing strike.

The meeting is scheduled to hold on Thursday by 11:00 am.

It was learnt that the unions received the invitation from the Federal Government on Wednesday night.

The unions commenced an indefinite strike on Monday over unpaid salaries for months.

They are also pressing for better renumeration and payment of earned allowances, among other things.

Activities in the public universities have been seriously grounded by the strike.
