Tension as mysterious deaths hit Edo community

There was tension in Afashio community, Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, following the discovery of lifeless bodies of five persons in their room.

Two of the victims were brothers while the three others, including the female were their friends.

The incident reportedly occured sometimes last week when the five persons died in what has been described as ‘mysterious circumstance’.

According a source in the community, the lifeless bodies of the victims were discovered by family members who noticed that they were yet to come out of the room and decided to check on them.

The source who craved anonymity, said food poisoning was suspected to be the cause of the death, as there was no sign of assault or marks on them.

The matter was said to have been reported at the Jattu police division even as family members were trying to unravel the cause of their death.

When contacted the Edo State Command’s Spokesperson, Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident.

He said: “The Command is aware.
Investigation to unravel the course of death is ongoing.”
