The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians during a recent food distribution event organized by the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) at the Government House in Ado Ekiti.
Senator Tinubu, represented by Hajia Nana Shettima, the wife of the Vice President, stressed that the government is implementing various reforms and programs designed to bring about sustainable change rather than temporary solutions.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that the benefits of these initiatives reach the most vulnerable members of our society,” she stated.
The food distribution is part of the RHI’s Food Outreach Programme, which operates under its Social sInvestment initiative. This monthly intervention strategy specifically targets vulnerable groups, including individuals with disabilities, women, and youth, aiming to complement government efforts in alleviating poverty.
While handing out assorted food items to beneficiaries, the First Lady urged them to utilize the provisions for their households rather than sell them in the market. “These items are meant to support you and your families, so please ensure they are used as intended,” she implored.
Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, the wife of the Ekiti State Governor, expressed gratitude for Senator Tinubu’s support, particularly highlighting contributions to agriculture, women empowerment, and scholarship programs. She encouraged beneficiaries to embrace agricultural practices at home to enhance food security for their families and communities.
The RHI Food Outreach Program, which began in December 2023 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, has since expanded to several states, positively impacting the lives of countless individuals across Nigeria.
