The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has disavowed two videos circulating online that falsely claim to represent the agency’s stance on election security and arrests.
In a statement on X, the Bureau clarified that one video falsely alleged the arrest of three groups involved in ballot fraud, while the other mentions the Second Gentleman.
“The FBI is aware of two videos falsely claiming to be from the FBI relating to election security,” the agency stated.
“These videos are not authentic, are not from the FBI, and the content they depict is false.”
The FBI reaffirmed that election integrity is a top priority, and it is actively collaborating with state and local law enforcement to address election-related threats and ensure public safety as Americans exercise their voting rights.
Warning against misinformation, the FBI noted that such deceptive content undermines the democratic process and erodes trust in the electoral system.
It urged the public to rely on credible sources, such as local election offices, for accurate election information and encouraged reporting any suspected criminal activity to state or local law enforcement.
