Pero Osaiyemi, one of the mothers of legendary Nigerian singer 2baba’s seven children, has responded to a troll who criticized her for voting for Donald Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
The mother of four shared a video on her Instagram after casting her vote, expressing her support for Trump’s administration with a caption that read: “TRUMP/VANCE/ELON/RFK/VIVEK/TULSI. MAGA. MAHA. TOOBIGTORIG.”
In the comment section, a troll mocked Pero, labeling her as an “immigrant” in a derogatory manner, seemingly questioning her right to vote for Trump. Pero swiftly clapped back, clarifying that she is a legal immigrant.
“Yes, a legal immigrant,” she responded.
The clapback received widespread support from her followers. Many praised her for standing her ground, with one user, Life Of Joy Amy, pointing out, “Trump is only after illegal immigrants, so why are some people pressed?”
Others also added, noting the distinction between legal and illegal immigration. Divine Michy1 remarked, “It’s illegal immigrants that have a problem with Trump being president,” while Schatz Unique simply wrote, “Yooh! Her response enter.”
Support continued to pour in, with Oby Uwkuegbu commenting, “You answered her well. I’m Nigerian, but people should respect others’ choices. She should vote for whom she desires.”
Many others hailed Pero’s response, with comments such as “Her comeback is ” from Veey Stitches Fashion and “A legal immigrant,” from Anyaoha Benjamin.
