Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has presented a 2025 Appropriation Bill totaling N549.16 billion to the state House of Assembly.
The budget, titled “Budget of Hope, Human Capital, and Economic Development,” prioritises education, infrastructure, and human capital development.
Under the proposed budget, 57% is allocated to capital expenditure and 43% to recurrent expenses. Key allocations include:
- Education: N168.35 billion (31% of the budget)
- Governance institutions: N98.24 billion (17.57%)
- Health: N90.6 billion (16.50%)
- Infrastructure development: N70.68 billion (12.87%)
- Agriculture: N21.04 billion (3.83%)

Governor Yusuf stated that the budget is designed to fulfill the collective aspirations of Kano State’s residents, aiming to drive economic growth and reduce dependence on federal grants. He also pledged to establish an efficient public service, promote good governance, and enhance worker morale.
Speaker of the House, Alhaji Falgore, commended the governor for the timely presentation and assured that deliberations would begin shortly. He urged all ministries, departments, and agencies to prepare for budget defence sessions before the House.
