Shaboozey rose to fame with his hit song “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” a mix of country and hip-hop that is currently trending as the top song on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is now officially the most streamed song in the U.S.

He was born in northern Virginia to Nigerian parents and raised in Woodbridge. His stage name is derived from mispronunciations of his surname, meaning “God is king” in Igbo. The recording artist is currently touring with Jelly Roll on select dates. Shaboozey was also announced as the performer at the Detroit Lions’ 85th annual Thanksgiving Day Classic versus the Chicago Bears on Nov. 28.
