Praising Dr. Busola Olamuyiwa, Director of Unforsaken House of Hephzibah, for her contributions to mental health support, particularly for trauma survivors, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the significance of psychological services within his THEMES PLUS policies.
He noted that a focus on mental health is essential for building a resilient, productive society.
“Organizations like Unforsaken House of Hephzibah play a critical role in our communities,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
“Mental health is both a personal and public priority, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that provide accessible psychological services to help citizens heal and thrive.”
The Governor promised to assist the Wellness Clinic in extending its reach to more individuals in need and collaborating with mental health professionals across various fields.
Lagos State Health Commissioner, Prof. Akin Abayomi, echoed Sanwo-Olu’s sentiments.
Represented by Dr. Tolu Ajomale, Head of Special Projects and Mental Health, Abayomi noted that the Ministry aimed to lead by example in fostering partnerships between government and non-profits to address Nigeria’s mental health needs.
He encouraged Lagosians to seek help for mental health issues, noting a positive shift toward greater awareness of therapy and mental well-being.
Dr. Busola Olamuyiwa, sharing her vision for the Wellness Clinic, described it as a sanctuary for holistic healing.
“This clinic is more than a professional goal; it’s a calling,” she said. “We understand that true health requires harmony of the mind, body, and spirit.”
Expressing gratitude for the State Government’s recognition of mental wellness as key to Lagos’s growth, Dr. Olamuyiwa underscored the clinic’s commitment to community-supported healing.
She thanked her team for their dedication in realizing the vision of a facility that provides accessible, compassionate care, offering clients a path toward sustained well-being and personal growth.
