Former President Donald Trump has announced Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK) as his pick for the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), vowing to tackle the country’s ongoing health crisis.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Trump expressed his enthusiasm for RFK Jr.’s appointment, highlighting the long-standing issues in the American healthcare system caused by what he described as the “industrial food complex” and pharmaceutical companies.
Trump stated, “I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr as The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).”
He went on to accuse food industries and drug companies of engaging in “deception, misinformation, and disinformation” regarding public health matters.
The former president emphasized that public health and safety should be the top priority for any administration, and pledged that HHS would play a pivotal role in ensuring protection for all Americans from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives.
Trump asserted that these factors had contributed significantly to the health crisis in the country.
“Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!” Trump concluded, outlining his vision for a healthier future under Kennedy’s leadership.
