The fight concluded to boos from the audience, and some fans even exited before the judges delivered their unanimous decision, scoring 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 in Paul’s favour.

Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, dealt a blow to Mike Tyson’s storied boxing legacy with a lacklustre points victory in front of 70,000 fans in Texas, with millions more tuning in on Netflix.

According to the BBC, the controversial fight left many disappointed, casting a shadow over the two-time heavyweight champion’s illustrious career.

At 58 and almost two decades removed from professional competition, Tyson appeared a shadow of his former self.

Despite a hero’s welcome, his sluggish performance underwhelmed the crowd.

Jake Paul, 27, leveraged his youth and athleticism to dominate the eight-round contest, using precise jabs and keeping Tyson at bay throughout the two-minute rounds.

The fight concluded to boos from the audience, and some fans even exited before the judges delivered their unanimous decision, scoring 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 in Paul’s favour.

Tyson’s limited offence saw him land only 18 punches compared to Paul’s 78, with no moments of significant danger for either fighter.

In a post-fight moment that raised eyebrows, Tyson, now with seven losses in 57 bouts, expressed interest in fighting Jake’s brother Logan Paul.

“I came to fight,” Tyson insisted, despite widespread doubts about the seriousness of the event.

The Texas commission, which controversially sanctioned the bout as a professional fight, mandated the use of heavier gloves with extra padding. However, the decision proved irrelevant, as neither man landed punches that could threaten a knockout.

Paul, who rose to fame through online pranks and built a massive social media following of 70 million, now holds an 11-1 professional record. After the fight, he reignited his ambition to challenge Mexican boxing icon Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

“He knows where the money is,” Paul remarked, reaffirming his desire for the high-profile clash.
