Popular actress Iyabo Ojo has refuted claims linking her to the death of late Nigerian singer Mohbad.
Speaking during a podcast session with comedian AY, Ojo expressed her dismay over the allegations, describing them as baseless.
“They were insinuating that maybe I killed Mohbad,” she stated, clarifying that she was not in the country at the time of the singer’s death.
Ojo further questioned the logic behind the accusations, noting, “If I actually killed him, then why was I fighting for him to be exhumed?”
The actress criticised what she described as the inconsistency in the singer’s family’s actions, saying, “Even his family lost track of what they wanted.”
Ojo also alleged that many of the stories circulating on social media were deliberately spread by individuals close to her.
“Most of the time, a lot of things that were sent to Gistlover were from my so-called colleagues,” she revealed, referencing the popular gossip platform.
Iyabo Ojo’s remarks come amidst heightened public attention on the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, with investigations still ongoing.
The actress called for restraint and urged people to verify information before making accusations.
