Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has spoken out against critics of the Church, labelling their actions as stemming from a “Judas spirit” characterised by dishonesty and misplaced assumptions.

He made the remarks during the November 2024 Impartation Service held at the Glory Dome, Abuja.

Addressing recurring criticisms of the Church’s financial activities, Enenche likened such detractors to Judas Iscariot, who is famously recorded in the Bible for stealing from the treasury.

“Many people talking against the Church have a Judas spirit—they assume every pastor is misusing Church funds because that’s what they would do if in the same position,” he stated.

He challenged those who argued that churches should redirect their resources toward establishing factories and industries, emphasising that the Church is not a substitute for government.

“Why should they build a big Church? Use it to build a factory, as if the Church is now the government,” he said.

Enenche went further to defend the global impact of the Church, citing examples such as Harvard, Cambridge, and Oxford universities, which were all founded by Christian organisations.

He also highlighted the contributions of Nigerian faith-based institutions, including Covenant University, which he described as a testament to the Church’s commitment to societal development.

“Some of the people criticising the Church claim to have attended prestigious institutions like Harvard. Ironically, those who genuinely went to such institutions wouldn’t speak in such a manner. It is only local failures that talk garbage against the Church,” he asserted.
