The Amina Dikwa Foundation (ADF), a non-profit organisation, has launched an extensive recovery programme to assist victims of the recent devastating floods that severely affected households across Borno State.

Speaking about the floods, which caused significant loss of lives and properties, ADF’s founder and CEO, Amina Dikwa, highlighted that the foundation’s initiatives were designed to address both immediate and long-term needs of the affected communities.

“We have made considerable progress in our immediate response, providing emergency relief such as clean drinking water, blankets, long-lasting insecticidal mosquito nets, clothing, and sanitary kits to women, girls, and children in IDP camps,” Dikwa stated.

In line with its commitment, the foundation has collaborated with other NGOs to deliver medical care, while also establishing communication with relevant authorities and stakeholders.

“We have also provided essential services, including sanitation kits, medical care, psychosocial support, educational assistance through school renovations and learning materials, as well as cash assistance to women for livelihood recovery,” she added.

Looking ahead to 2025, Amina Dikwa reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to ensuring the protection and safety of vulnerable populations, addressing environmental concerns, and strengthening collaborations with local authorities and stakeholders.

The foundation will also focus on monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of its response and organising training on disaster risk reduction.

Through its comprehensive approach, ADF has made a significant impact on flood-affected communities in Borno State. As the foundation continues its efforts, it remains committed to supporting the most vulnerable populations and fostering long-term resilience.

The Amina Dikwa Foundation is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid, promoting education, and empowering communities in Nigeria.

Founded by Amina Dikwa, the organisation works tirelessly to address the needs of vulnerable populations and promote sustainable development.
