London witnessed heavy wind and rain overnight into Sunday as Storm Bert continued to batter the country, local media reported Sunday.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of wind for London and southeast today (Sunday 24 November) with likely traffic disruption and power cuts.
According to MyLondon, the weather warning is in place between 8 am on Sun 24 Nov 2024 and 9 pm.
Meteorologists have warned that London is set to face potentially hazardous conditions as Storm Bert threatens to bring wind gusts of up to 53mph to the capital.
There has been some disruption already on the London Underground. Rail operators including South Weston Railway have been forced to amend timetables – for example, services between Exeter St Davids and London Waterloo will start and finish their journey at Basingstoke due to the storm. On Monday (November 25th), services across the network will begin later than usual to accommodate safety inspections.
The warning states that delays are likely on the capital’s road, rail, air and ferry transport, the magazine reported.
