Popular social media critic, Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has leveled serious allegations against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

VeryDarkMan accused Wike of wielding undue influence over Nigeria’s judicial system, claiming the minister has “judges in his pocket.”

The accusations came in reaction to the demolition of a property allegedly situated opposite Wike’s residence in the upscale Asokoro area of Abuja.

Sharing his concerns on Instagram, VeryDarkMan cited an appeal from a person reportedly affected by the demolition, who alleged that the authorities sought to claim the land for personal use after the owner had invested over a decade developing it.

Expressing outrage, VeryDarkMan stated:

“This place is said to be opposite Wike’s house, which I find very suspicious. May God not let this evil happen to us; people will rather come to VeryDarkMan than go to court for justice.”

The social media commentator went on to criticize the alleged erosion of public trust in the judiciary, claiming that it is compromised by individuals like Wike:

“It is painful to think that no one believes in the justice system in Nigeria anymore because the judiciary has been allegedly bought by the likes of Nyesom Wike and his cahoots. How do you carry out this kind of act without notice? Do you even sit down to think of the security implications?”

VeryDarkMan also referenced allegations that Wike has been involved in procuring properties for judges, ostensibly to influence court decisions. He questioned why affected parties have turned to social media instead of the courts, suggesting a lack of faith in the judicial process.
